Oracle on SuSE
last modified: 18/04/2006

Due to lack of specific information on the installation of Oracle on SuSE (now Novell/SuSE)  I decided to write a couple of mini-HOWTOs to help myself and few others. Even if things changed and Novell provided good documentation I'm still here writing. It is most for myself (I don't wish to be back on the same mistakes again and again) but if you find it useful feel free to follow these notes.

The documents on AMD64 are reported to work even on EM64T. Unfortunately I have only AMD machines for my tests so I cannot try by myself.
(Actually I have found a couple of spare HP blades with Xeon64. I'm going to test them as soon as possible).

The site is growing but at the moment I have only these papers available:

Oracle 10.2.0.1 (10gR2) on SUSE LINUX   *it covers SLES9 and SUSE 10*

Oracle Clusterware 10.2.0.1 (CRS 10gR2) on SLES9   *Basics for RAC 10gR2*

Oracle 9i for x86-64 on SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 AMD64 version.
